Hopyard Alehouse in Pleasanton, California, opened in 1993 as a joint venture between two friends, to become a well-known Bay Area craft beer bar with over 30 taps, a beer garden, and a pub. Recently under new ownership, their goal for Hopyard is to stay true to the alehouse’s casual and approachable neighborhood roots, while ushering in a new era of beer lovers.

Refreshing Hopyard Alehouse’s brand and designing new menus, signage, collateral, and a website was a strategic opportunity to strengthen the business’s position as an enticing destination for craft beer enthusiasts. By revitalizing the brand, we aimed to draw more beer drinkers to the Alehouse, shedding light on its impressive selection of 31 craft beers on tap.

Our brand concept combines inspiration from the locale’s agricultural history as North America’s once largest hop growing region in the late 1800’s, Pleasanton’s charming post-war small town feel, and classic American beer iconography with a fresh twist. The transformation emphasizes the Alehouse's unique and special qualities as a casual, comfortable, and community-oriented space where the craft beer experience is at the forefront.
